In a recent interview with CBS’ Gayle King, the “Believe” singer opened up about her relationship with her 39-year-old boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards, and why their 40-year age difference has never been an issue.
Cher and AE have been together for three years, often seen smiling on red carpets and family outings with Edwards’ young son, Slash. While critics have questioned their unconventional relationship, Cher remains unbothered. When King asked about the age gap, the superstar shrugged it off with her signature confidence: “Whatever. They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.”
Edwards, a music executive at Sony, seems equally unfazed. Cher revealed with a smile, “He just says, ‘You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.’”
That youthful spirit has kept Cher thriving for more than six decades in the spotlight. From her early days with Sonny & Cher to her Oscar-winning film career and sold-out tours, she’s always danced to her own rhythm. Her romance with AE is simply another example of that fearless individuality.
