Russell Brand Charged With Rape and Sexual Assault Again

Russell Brand charged with rape and sexual assault again as UK prosecutors approve further criminal charges tied to two additional women, intensifying one of the most serious investigations into a British celebrity in recent years.

The new charges follow an ongoing Metropolitan Police inquiry and come months after Brand was formally accused in relation to four other women. He has pleaded not guilty to all previous allegations.

New Charges Approved by Crown Prosecution Service

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised one additional count of rape and one count of sexual assault connected to two women, police confirmed.

Detectives say the decision follows an extensive review of evidence gathered during the continuing investigation.

Brand, who is currently facing multiple charges, has consistently denied all allegations made against him.

Investigation Continues as Support Offered to Complainants

Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi of the Metropolitan Police said specialist officers remain in contact with all women involved in the case.

Police have again urged anyone affected, or anyone with relevant information, to come forward as inquiries remain active.

Authorities stressed that victim support remains a priority throughout the legal process.

Timeline of Allegations Against Russell Brand

The latest accusations add to charges brought earlier this year involving four women.

Those earlier allegations include multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault, with incidents said to have occurred between 1999 and 2005.

In total, Brand now faces seven charges involving six women.

Court Dates Confirmed for 2026

Brand is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 20 January 2026 in relation to the two newly approved charges.

A separate trial concerning the earlier charges is due to begin at Southwark Crown Court on 16 June 2026 and is expected to last several weeks.

Brand Maintains His Innocence

Following the initial charges earlier this year, Brand publicly denied all allegations.

In a video message shared with followers, he acknowledged past struggles with addiction but firmly rejected claims of non-consensual behaviour, stating he has never engaged in sexual activity without consent.

He has said he welcomes the opportunity to defend himself in court.
