Kylie Jenner could be stepping into an entirely new chapter of her entertainment career, with reports linking the reality television star and beauty mogul to a leading role in Hulu’s upcoming thriller series Bachelorette Weekend. If the project moves forward as reported, it would mark a significant expansion of Jenner’s screen career, taking her beyond reality television and into a scripted murder mystery.
According to reports from Deadline and Page Six, Jenner is attached to star in the series and serve as an executive producer. Her older half-sister, Kim Kardashian, is also reportedly involved as an executive producer, continuing the family’s growing presence in scripted entertainment.
The project is said to be approaching a straight-to-series order at Hulu. However, production details, a confirmed release date and the final casting lineup have not yet been announced.
What Is Kylie Jenner’s New Hulu Series, Bachelorette Weekend?
Bachelorette Weekend is a developing thriller built around a celebration that takes a disturbing turn. The story follows a group of friends who gather for a bachelorette weekend, only for the occasion to become a murder investigation when the bride is discovered dead in a swimming pool.
Jenner is reportedly set to play the bride, placing her character at the center of the mystery despite the character’s death becoming the event that drives the plot.
As the story unfolds, the bride’s friends come under suspicion, and the narrative reportedly moves backward through the events leading up to the killing. This structure promises a mystery in which relationships, hidden tensions and conflicting accounts become essential to understanding what happened.
Rather than following a conventional investigation from beginning to end, the backward-moving narrative could allow the series to reveal new information gradually, encouraging viewers to reconsider their assumptions about the characters.
The Story Behind Bachelorette Weekend
The series was created for television by author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver through her production company, StoryGiants. It is based on an unpublished book by Flora Collins, giving the project a literary foundation before its potential arrival on screen.
According to reports, Jenner’s character has been described as the story’s “North Star,” suggesting that the bride remains a central presence in the narrative even as the mystery shifts attention toward her friends.
That approach could give Jenner a distinctive role in the series. Although her character is reportedly found dead early in the story, the circumstances surrounding her life and final hours are expected to be crucial to the unfolding mystery.
The combination of a high-profile cast member, a closed-circle suspect list and a nonlinear storyline gives the project several familiar ingredients of the psychological thriller genre.
How Kim Kardashian Helped Kylie Jenner Land the Role
Kylie Jenner’s reported casting also highlights the increasingly collaborative relationship between the Kardashian-Jenner family’s reality television careers and its ambitions in scripted entertainment.
According to reports, Kim Kardashian received the script in connection with her work as a producer and recognized the opportunity as a potential starring vehicle for her younger sister. Jenner subsequently became attached to the project.
If confirmed in the final production, the arrangement would give the sisters different but complementary roles behind the scenes. Kylie would lead the series as its central character, while Kim would contribute as an executive producer.
Their involvement reflects how established entertainment personalities can use their industry relationships to explore projects beyond the formats that first made them famous. However, the series will ultimately need to stand on its own as a scripted production, with its writing, performances and direction determining how audiences respond.
Kylie Jenner Is Moving Beyond Reality Television
For much of her career, Jenner has appeared on screen as herself. She became widely known through Keeping Up With the Kardashians before continuing her reality television journey in Hulu’s The Kardashians.
Her public profile has also expanded through Kylie Cosmetics and other business ventures, making her one of the most recognizable figures to emerge from the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Yet scripted acting presents a different challenge from appearing in a reality series. Instead of responding to situations as herself, Jenner would need to develop a fictional character, work within a predetermined narrative and convey emotions and motivations that belong to the story.
Her recent appearance in Charli xcx’s film The Moment offered another opportunity to explore the entertainment world beyond reality television. However, Bachelorette Weekend would represent a more substantial scripted commitment if the reported casting proceeds.
For Jenner, the transition could open new opportunities across television and film. It would also place her in a setting where audiences may judge her on a different set of expectations than those associated with her established reality television persona.
Kim Kardashian Has Already Built a Scripted Acting Career
Kylie’s reported move follows Kim Kardashian’s increasingly visible work in scripted entertainment.
Kim took on a prominent role in American Horror Story: Delicate, appearing as publicist Siobhan Corbyn alongside Emma Roberts. The performance marked a notable departure from her usual reality television appearances and placed her within a scripted series with an established audience.
She has also starred in Hulu’s legal drama All’s Fair, playing lawyer Allura Grant while serving as an executive producer.
Her screen credits extend beyond live-action television. Kim voiced Delores in PAW Patrol: The Movie and its sequel, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. Earlier appearances include Disaster Movie, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor and a cameo in Ocean’s 8.
She is also expected to appear in Netflix’s upcoming film The Fifth Wheel, which is reported to be targeting a 2027 release.
Kim’s career provides a useful comparison for Kylie’s next potential step. Both sisters built substantial public profiles through reality television, but their involvement in scripted projects gives them opportunities to explore different types of performances and creative responsibilities.
Other Kardashian-Jenner Family Members Have Tried Acting
The family’s entertainment experience extends beyond Kim and Kylie, although the members have pursued different approaches to acting.
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian made her scripted acting debut in the soap opera One Life to Live in 2011, playing Kassandrah Kavanaugh. She later appeared in Netflix’s He’s All That as Jessica Miles Torres.
She has also made appearances as herself in television projects, including DAVE and After Lately, alongside her longstanding reality television work.
Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner has focused primarily on modeling but has also explored acting and voice work. Her credits include an appearance on Hawaii Five-0, a voice role in The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange and a cameo in Ocean’s 8.
These projects have generally occupied a smaller part of her career than her work in fashion.
Kylie Jenner’s Earlier Screen Appearances
Although Bachelorette Weekend would be a major step into scripted television, it would not be Kylie’s first experience with acting-related work.
She has appeared in Trolls: Holiday in Harmony and made a cameo in Ocean’s 8. Her appearance in The Moment also brought her into a film project connected to the world of contemporary pop culture.
The reported Hulu thriller would nevertheless give her a more sustained character to portray, potentially marking a turning point in how she approaches screen work.
When Will Bachelorette Weekend Be Released?
There is currently no confirmed release date for Bachelorette Weekend. Reports indicate that the project is still in development at Hulu and is nearing a straight-to-series order, but that does not mean production or a premiere date has been officially finalized.
Further information about filming schedules, additional cast members and the eventual release window remains unannounced.
Until Hulu confirms the project’s status and shares further details, viewers should treat the reported casting and production plans as developments that may still change.
Kylie Jenner’s Next Career Chapter Could Look Very Different
Kylie Jenner’s reported involvement in Bachelorette Weekend could represent a meaningful change for a celebrity whose public career has largely revolved around reality television and entrepreneurship.
With Kim Kardashian reportedly attached as an executive producer, the project also brings another family collaboration into an entertainment landscape where both sisters are exploring scripted work.
The thriller’s murder-mystery premise offers Jenner an opportunity to take on a fictional character within a more demanding narrative format. Whether the series becomes a major success will depend on its eventual execution, casting and reception.
For now, the project remains in development, and a release date has yet to be confirmed. Still, if Bachelorette Weekend moves forward as reported, it could become one of the most significant acting opportunities of Jenner’s career so far.
